Entrance:
[The opening beats of Orbital's 'The Box' tinkle over the P.A, to a moderate pop from the good-sized crowd. A few seconds later, the figure of man with his hands in the pockets of his black baseball jacket emerges, his head down but with a confident swagger in his step as he walks towards the ring.]
KH: ...from San Francisco, California... and weighing in at two hundred and thirty four pounds...
[The man looks up once or twice at the crowd, who mainly seem to be booing him as he makes his way down the aisle. He reaches the ring, climbing onto the ring apron, holding on to the top rope as he vaults into the ring.]
KH: ...He is...
Johnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny WAI!
[The crowd jeers at the announcement of his name, but Wai seems not to care, a smirk on his face. He takes off the jacket to reveal a bare torso, light blue and green wrestling tights with the word 'WAI' emblazoned down the right-hand side, and a yin-yang symbol on the left. Completing his outfit is a pair of clean white wrestling boots. Wai rolls his neck a couple of times, ready to face his opponent.]
Other Characteristics:
Athletically built, not especially powerful, but with very little fat on his body. Has a tattoo of a Chinese interpretation of a dragon's head on his left shoulder.
Description of the Wrestler's Personality, Behavior, and Attitude:
The best way to describe Johnny Wai's in-ring persona is 'Win at all costs'. If he can gain a victory cleanly, so be it, but a win is a win, and 'by any means necessary' is a motto clearly supported by the San Franciscan. By taking such an attitude, he doesn't garner the good attentions of the fans, but neither doesn't he want them. He does, however, have some fans, who like his 'attainment of success' attitude.
In the ring he will use whatever he can to further his aim of becoming a champion, using whatever is available to beat his opponent... chairs, bells, microphone ropes... anything, as long as the referee doesn't see it, because although Wai will cheat, he is not a masochist, and doesn't hurt people because he likes it.
He is not unfeeling, not a stone, but simply a striver for excellence, greatness, and perhaps... immortality. He does insult others, solid in his self-belief, but recognising the relative merits of his opponent before stepping into a match. He is always prepared.
Wai has chosen to fight the stereotype befalling so many of his Asian wrestling colleagues, who are forced into stereotypical roles that have no relation to them personally. Wai will be champion... he sees it as a fight... a mission... something to be achieved at all costs.
Background Information on Wrestler:
Not much is known about this man, as he doesn't make access to his private life freely available. It is thought that he trained to wrestle overseas, or perhaps he was trained in a famous Minnesota gym. Neither story seems entirely likely, but neither seems unlikely either.
Even though he has tried to suppress this information, it is known that he has a bad ankle from an accident occurring earlier in his life.
