The Perverse Romans

Tag Team Manager: While not really their manager, they have a bodyguard names Marina. For the most part, she is the strong, silent type. She's 6'1", weighs about 180 pounds, is a competent martial artist and an experienced street fighter. She's moderately attractive, but no great beauty. She was hired by Nero's mafioso father to protect them. She may have been an assassin or enforcer in a previous career, but so far her past is unrevealed. She's always calm and professional, but can be absolutely vicious when in a fight. To best describe her fighting style, she is like an unskilled wrestler. A good brawler, a dangerous fighter, but nothing fancy.

Tag Team Finisher: Colosseum Kick - Caligula will lift the opponent into a standing vertical suplex while Nero climbs to the top rope. Caligula turns to face the center of the ring. Nero then delivers a flying dropkick to the opponent's back, pushing the opponent's body forward into a face-front slam by Caligula. Caligula then rolls the victim and applies the pin.

Favorite Team Setup Move: Roman Crucufix -- Usually performed during a double-team or tag. Caligula will lift an opponent onto his back, similar to the Outsider Edge position. Nero then climbs the ropes and delivers a flying clothesline to the victim.

Tag Team Background: The team known as The Perverse Romans is made up of two young wrestlers named Caligula, formerly known as Pasolini, and Nero, formerly known as The Mafia Madman. Two two met while working for the Italian Wrestling Council. Mafia Madman's father, a partner in the new Sicilian Extreme Wrestling promotion, convinced his son to give up being a directionless fan favorite and pursue titles, fame, and fortune as a wrestler. Mafia Madman, not wanting to be written out of his father's very generous will, agreed that he would attempt to win one of the new titles.

Pasolini suggested a new gimmick for the two: The Perverse Romans. They would be the most viciously extreme wrestlers in an already hardcore promotion. Naming themselves after two of the most decadent and cruel Roman emperors seemed to fit. They believed that their great abilities would be able to carry them to the Siclian Extreme Wrestling's Tag Team Hardcore Masters titles. In the finals of the Tag Team Hardcore Masters tournament, a no disqualification match, The Perverse Romans seemed to have a strong upper hand in the match. Their opponents were both bloodied and barely able to stand, much less mount an offense. Unfortunately for them, Nero's father was not the only Mafioso involved in the wrestling business.

The referee, a nephew of another powerful Don who had no love for Nero's family, would not allow the Romans to win the match. When Caligula gave the referee a piledriver, several thugs emerged from the audience and gave him and Nero a merciless beat-down. They then helped one of the Romans' weakened opponents cover Caligula and brought the referee back to conciousness to make the count. Nero's father, not wanting to watch his son become a victim of a gang war in the middle of the ring, asked the two to leave Sicily and go to the US. In Florida they would be able to wrestle while remaining safe from local tensions.

Once in Florida, they were quite successful as a team, defeating a heavily favored team to become the first FSW Tag Team champions. They remained champions until the president of FSW went insane and decided to turn his successful wrestling promotion into a travelling ferret circus instead. They moved to the Missouri Wrestling Alliance where, after a brief undefeated streak, they earned a shot at the NWC Tag Team Titles. At MCW's final card, CoboSlam XV, they defeated the Outlanders in a major upset to win the NWC titles.
